The Best Breakfast in the South: The Buttered Biscuit
Sam and Anna Russell started The Buttered Biscuit in 2017 to bring handcrafted, scratch-made, locally sourced breakfast to Arkansas. The Buttered Biscuit’s most recent opening was on May 29th in Little Rock at the Promenade at Chenal. “At the [beginning],” says Sam, “it was a husband helping his wife succeed at her dream. At the grand opening [in Bentonville], I was going to come in, give my wife a high-five, and say congratulations. It was so busy that I called my boss and told him I needed to stay and support my wife. There I am, opening day of the restaurant, sliding all over the floor in my leather wingtips. Within a week of opening, I decided to quit my corporate job and go into entrepreneurship full-time with my wife.”
